Who is the founder of the Ravidassia Religion?
The Ravidassia Religion was founded by Satguru Ravidass Maharaj Ji (1377-1528), shaped by Saints and announced in the presence of more then 10 lakhs devotees from India and abroad by Saints in consultation with His Holiness Shri 108 Sant Niranjan Dass Ji Gaddi Nashin on (30th January, 2010) the 633th Birth anniversary of Jagatguru Satguru Ravidass Ji at Varanasi. The entire Ravidassia community in India and abroad have welcomed the announcement of Ravidassia Religion and ‘Amrit Bani Satguru Ravidass Maharaj Ji’.
What is the Ravidassia Holy Book called?
Satguru Ravidass Ji's religious scriptures can be found in over 20 Holy Books. The official Holy book of the Ravidassia Religion is called 'Amritbani Satguru Ravidass Maharaj Ji'. It is a collection of teachings and writings of Satguru Ravidass Ji and contains 140 shabads, 40 pade, painti akhri, bani haftawar, bani pandran tithi, baran maas updesh, dohra, saand bani, anmol vachan (milni de samen), laawaan, suhag ustat, manglachar, 231 salok. There are 177 pages in all of the book. It takes about 4 hours to finalize one Amritbani Jaap, this is continued reading from cover to cover. It has been installed in majority of the States in India and in major countries of the world. This holy book has been widely accepted and owned.

Following this, SUHAG USTAT - Nuptial Praise (Eulogy) for the couple and religious hymns are sung.
Who is Satguru Ravidass Ji?
Satguru Ravidass Maharaj Ji appeared on Sunday, the 15th of JANUARY, 1377 A.D, 14th Century at Northeast India, Seer Govardhanpur a sub-urban area of Varanasi .(U.P). He lived for 151 years. He was one of the leading saints of the Bhakti movement who was against the Hindu Caste-System. He was protagonist of equality, human rights and universal brotherhood, liberty, fraternity and worship of one God. Guru Ji was a multi-faceted personality. He was a suave socio-religious reformer, a thinker, a theosophist, a humanist, a poet, a traveller, a pacifist and above all a towering spiritual figure before whom even head-priests of Benaras lay prostrate to pay homage. He has given us a unique concept of 'Begumpura'. He has stressed the need of establishment of Begumpura type of governance in the world.

Satguru Ravidass Ji coined the Gurmukhi Alphabet. He preached:
Madho abidiaa hit keen Bibek deep maleen
The lamp of his knowledge has become dim.
The untouchables were strictly prohibited from reading Devnagri script. Even a glance of the devnagri letters by them could mean damage of eyes and as such blindness. It was all horrible. To save the ignorant people Guru Ji invented his own Gurmukhi alphabet consisting of 35 letters.
Education was spread by Guru Ji. The people of his community started learning.
